A daughter. A mother. A stroke that breaks down love and connection—
and a technology that helps restore it.
When a stroke takes a voice, it changes everything. The loss of speech reshapes the relationship as a daughter becomes a caregiver and decision-maker, and a mother becomes a patient before either is ready. Misinterpretation becomes a constant burden. Emotional isolation deepens on both sides: the caregiver feels unseen and overwhelmed, while the person living with stroke feels trapped inside their own body. And with little training or support, the caregiver absorbs the growing weight of caregiving.

Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States suffers a stroke, and millions of Americans are suddenly thrust into the role of caregiver. One in four adults in the U.S. is a caregiver-and that number is climbing as our population continues to age. These caregivers dedicate dozens of hours each week, navigating the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of supporting loved ones, whether they’re facing a stroke or other health conditions.
